Homemade Dark Chocolate Syrup

In our house we eat pancakes almost everyday and drench them in chocolate syrup.
What better way to save money and eat healthy?  HOMEMADE!

Homemade Dark Chocolate Syrup
yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

1 cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 tsp  cornstarch dissolve in 2 tsp water

Combine cocoa powder and water in a pot and whip/stir over low heat until the cocoa dissolves.

Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves. Boil gently for about 3 minutes...

Add the salt. I use pink salt here because I'm feeling fancy, hehe, but really you can use any salt you like. Then, add the vanilla extract. There's nothing like using premium and real vanilla extract. Taste matters how small it is in the ingredient. =) For the finale. Stir in cornstarch mixture to thicken.

Let the syrup cool down a bit. Transfer into a clean jar.
Our homemade chocolate syrup is now ready!
