Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu with Honey-Mustard Sauce

This is a french classic recipe but don't let the fancy french name fool you. Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe is easy and delicious and once you know how to cook it you will want to make it more often. This could be an easy weeknight recipe for working mommy and daddy. Kids love it!





ingredients

3 chicken breast fillets
2 sliced sweet ham
sliced-quick melt cheese

1  cup flour
¼ tsp garlic powder
1  egg
salt and pepper
½ cup breadcrumbs
¼ tsp maggi magic sarap granules


directions
  • Pound chicken breast fillets to flatten in between sheets of cling wrap until about a half inch thick. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • To make breading: Prepare 3 shallow dish. 
  1. Mix a teaspoon of garlic and a pinch of salt to half a cup of flour in a shallow dish. 
  2. Whisk egg in another dish. 
  3. Season bread crumbs with maggi magic sarap. 
  • Place a slice of sweet ham on top of chicken breast and top it with cheese and roll. Secure with toothpicks.
  • Dip filled chicken breasts in flour, then egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
  • Deep-fry until cooked through and drain on paper towels. Serve with Honey-Mustard Sauce.

mommy notes: remove toothpicks when one side of the chicken breast is cooked, by then the chicken had shrunken and will hold the roll in place.
