Salty & Sweet Cookies

This was dubbed as New York Times Chocolate Cookies. (click link for original recipe)

I didn't have all the suggested ingredients on hand so I have to improvised a bit, hehe. I can only imagine how they would be if I actually followed the recipe.

Ingredients

2 cups minus 2 Tbsp cake flour
1 2/3 cups all purpose flour ( original recipe calls for bread flour )
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups mascuvado sugar ( original recipe calls for light brown sugar )
1 cup plus 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

Sift flours, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a bowl and set aside.
Using a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs. Stir in vanilla extract. Reduce speed to low and add dry ingredients slowly. Mixing until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and refrigerate for 24-36 hours but I just refrigerate mine whole night.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Drop spoonfuls of dough or may roll it into a ball onto baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
